The last few weeks I have had many customers ask, “What is the biggest difference between steel and aluminum boat trailers?” The answer: strength. Steel is at least three times stronger than aluminum. Aside from aluminum construction differences: lack of bunking, U bolted frame, etc. the largest difference is the strength of the frame.

What is the weight of an aluminum trailer vs a steel trailer that would carry a 16 ft fishing boat? Thanks!

It totally depends on construction time and size of channel/tubing used…

Hello Loadmaster admin, I am fabricating a bow stop for a 31bBertram, and noticed you provide what looks like a vertical V-block system on most of your stops,(4×12)? On my boat ,there is no getting around at least one chine tapering off at the bow in which the stop has to “slide past’.(minimal interferance) My question, do you use just a plywood backed carpeted block as your protection of the hull? Are the blocks rounded on ends? Thanks in advance, Robert.
