Here are some new testimonials from our customers: Enjoy!!

“The trailer handled marvelously beginning with loading the boat on it in Ohio and then driving it across country to Colorado. ” ~ The Gentiles

“I have to say I am extremely happy with the Loadmaster trailer. You folks did a wonderful job fitting based on measurements and no boat to actually work with. It fits spot on. It has been a breeze to load, unload and trailers the boat great. I appreciate the fine workmanship your group provided. I also have many envious guides who want to know where I got it and how I found you!” ~ Capt. Leo Wright

“The trailer tows extremely well and we had no problems whatsoever! Thanks again for the great job. I will recommend Loadmaster to everyone I know who needs a trailer built.” ~ Ed Holzer

Boat Trailers: Steel VS Aluminum

June 4th, 2009 · 6 Comments

The last few weeks I have had many customers ask, “What is the biggest difference between steel and aluminum boat trailers?” The answer: strength. Steel is at least three times stronger than aluminum. Aside from aluminum construction differences: lack of bunking, U bolted frame, etc. the largest difference is the strength of the frame.

Sailboat Trailers: Differences

May 27th, 2009 · 11 Comments

Each boat trailer manufacturer may build their trailers differently. The biggest decision for most sailboat owners when deciding on a sailboat trailer, is whether they should use a bunk or screwpad style support system.

At Loadmaster we tell our customers this simple rule: If you plan to float your sailboat on and off the trailer, the bunk style set up usually makes it quite a bit easier.

If you plan to hoist your sailboat on and off the trailer, the choice is yours, however, a lot of customers like the screwpads because they make working on the boat a little easier, while it is on the trailer.

There are customizable options for either set up: if you plan to float the sailboat on and off the trailer you can build a tongue extesion to help add length. For hosting on and off, if you still want bunks, you can get sling pocket cut outs.

Loadmaster Trailers: What Makes Us Unique

May 21st, 2009 · 1 Comment

Each boat trailer company does things differently. We all use different size components such as: axles, tires, tongue jacks, winch stands, frame sizes, bunking, braking components etc. So how is it possible to compare apples to apples?

Comparision between trailer companies can be difficult, but a picture is worth a thousand words in the trailer market. Off first glass you can notice quite a bit of difference between aluminum and steel trailers, bunks vs roller trailers and others.

Loadmaster is unique in that EACH trailer is built to order. We only use C Channel steel (either painted or galvanized) because with tube steel there is no way to prime or paint the inside, which causes internal rusting over time.

Loadmaster also only use a treated lumber, marine carpeted bunk system for hull support. Rollers can damage a fiberglass hull (some boat manufacturers will void a gel coat and/or hull warranty if their boat is set on a roller trailer).

Furthermore, Loadmaster offers endless option opportunities allowing us to truly customize the trailer to your needs. You can choose options for fresh vs salt water use, braking systems, colors/galvanizing, and many many more features to make your trailer as user friendly as desired.

Each Loadmaster is built to the spec of the boat. If you are quoting around for a boat trailer, we encourage you to compare apples to apples, and if you need help, please feel free to let us know! 800 258-6115.

Boat Trailers: Summer is Approaching

May 12th, 2009 · 4 Comments

Boat trailers can be one of the most important parts of your summer. All of us who are not lucky enough to enjoy year round boating weather are gearing up for Spring and Summer Boating. Of course we have a long list of “to-do’s” to accomplish before the adventures begin. One thing to keep in mind is your trailer upkeep. Be sure you check your entire boat trailer to ensure it is ready for the road and for loading and launching your boat.

If you do not own any Boat trailers – quality and made to your specifications!, you may want to consider all the uncharted territory left for you to explore. Also, having a boat trailer may allow you to get rid of your boat storage cost!!

My recommendation is to sit down and figure where you would like to travel this year with your boat. Set a plan to ensure the time is reserved, the boat is ready, the trailer is equipped and you’re ready to go! How exciting for the 2009 boating season to begin!

Boat Trailers: What Custom Really Means

May 8th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Oftentimes you will hear manufacturers say they build a truly custom trailer. What does this really mean? Many boat trailer manufacturers have trailers pre-built sitting on their lot and once they get an order they “adjust” the trailer to make it fit.

If you want a truly custom trailer, you will want to find a manufacturer that builds each trailer to order. Cutomization lies in the bunking design, the axle placement, the options/accessories to suit your needs, the color/galvanizing etc.
