  I just bought a Loadmaster 48′ Gooseneck boat trailer used. According to its previous owner, the trailer limit is 18,000 pounds. Was he correct? The primary boat that I will haul is a 32′ Carver with a dry weight of 12,000, so this should be within the range of the trailer’s capacity. However, I have also been told that it could be used to haul a 36′ Carver with a dry weight of 18,500 (and a loaded weight of around 21,000). If the latter boat is beyond the capacity of the trailer, what can be done to bring the trailer up to the 21K load limits? Thanks.

  I am sorry but we cannot build a trailer for a 14′ boat as the shortest we can build is 18-19′ in length. I really appreciate your interest. The only way we could support this boat is if you also wanted to carry a jet ski or two to make it a combo trailer as we are not able to bend our steel frame short enough. Best of luck.

  In responce to #13, You can increase the load limit to 21,000 by putting heavier axles and suspension under it. Also check your tire and wheel capacities also. The framing of the trailer should hold to the 21,000lbs. cap.

  i honestly think the boat is to heacy for the trailor.
